 Spirituality Vs. Religion

More and more these days, you see a lot of people who have become disillusioned with the human institution of organized religion. More and more of these individuals are blaming God for the evil committed ostensibly in His name by man. Even a certain popular singer whose sophomore album was filled with beautiful spiritual meaning included a bonus live track on her next album containing the lyric, "I'm sorry that Jesus died for my sins. And I swear to God it won't happen again." Ouch!

The purpose of this section of my website is to reach out to these people with the message of love that Jesus isn't like that at all. If anything, He openly denounced the mongers of hate, greed and violence so prevalent in the so-called "religious right" by whom many people purport to judge the entire Christian faith.

Don't blame Jesus  for the evils of those who abuse His name for their own glory.

A popular abbreviation poses the question of "What would Jesus do?"  I asked myself that, and came up with my own guesses based on His life and works as to what Jesus really would do nowadays.

And no, you don't need a sparkling background, or even the strictly controlled conduct of the Puritans to be at peace with God. You are saved through faith by the grace of God, not by some plastic morality code.

Indeed, there is only one way to get to Heaven, and the idolatry of the Reaganites isn't it.
